Applications for Rotary Youth Exchange Programs Are Now Open - Due September 25th!

The Rotary Youth Exchange Program is now accepting applications from high school students in Routt and Moffat County for the 2026 exchange year. The deadline for submissions is September 25. The Rotary full year program offers students the opportunity to spend an academic year abroad. The short-term (family to family) exchange offers students a three-week exchange experience with a Rotarian family in a foreign country, and then the student brings a family member from their host family home to spend three weeks here.

The Steamboat Springs Rotary Club is sending a student to France and hosting a student from Japan in 2025-2026. Last year, the club welcomed an exchange student from France to spend her year here in Steamboat, and sent a student from here to Denmark for a year.

The program is recognized globally for fostering peace, cultural understanding, and personal growth. It is open to high school students aged 15 to 19 who demonstrate maturity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn about different cultures. Applicants do not need to be Rotary members or have previous international experience.

Selected students will spend several weeks to a full academic year in their host country, attending local schools and living with host families. They will receive ongoing support from Rotary clubs in both their home and host countries.

Applications for both exchange programs are available online at www.steamboatrotary.org. The application process includes submitting school transcripts, letters of recommendation, and participating in interviews. The final
selections will be announced by October.

Rotary International is committed to ensuring all exchanges are safe, inclusive, and supportive. Scholarships and financial assistance may be available for those who need support.

For more information, visit www.steamboatrotary.org or contact local Rotarian Steve Jensen at 303.886.4351.

Congratulations, Hayden Routt County Fair Students!

👏 Huge congratulations to each and every one of you who participated in the 2025 Routt County Fair! Whether you took part in livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, rodeo events, home arts, horse or dog shows—you made the whole community beam with pride.

Your hard work, passion, and dedication—from raising animals, to showing animals, crafting homemade projects, or rodeo skills—truly embody the spirit of Hayden and our area’s proud heritage. These are the kind of experiences that build both character and community.

To families, educators, and local mentors—thank you for guiding and supporting our students every step of the way. This fair is as much about teamwork and spirit as it is about individual achievements.

Through your efforts, you’ve honored a tradition stretching back over a century—bringing West Routt’s proud ranching and agricultural heritage to new heights. You’ve shown what it means to work hard, stay committed, and celebrate with community.

Here’s to your success, to new memories made, and to even more adventures ahead. Congratulations again to all our amazing Hayden students—your community couldn’t be more proud!
